In the years to come, more than 3300 ŠKODA dealerships are going to get a completely new look, which will also offer enough space for the extended model range. However, the designers of the new dealerships and service workshops did not only think about the looks.
To make sure the car is as eco-friendly as possible, both in everyday driving and servicing at authorized ŠKODA service partners, we need highly trained professionals.
The ŠKODA AUTO project ‘One Tree Planted for Each ŠKODA Sold in the Czech Republic’ has had another successful season. 60,042 new trees were planted in selected Czech regions in 2014, reflecting the number of ŠKODA cars sold in 2013 on the domestic market. Since the project began eight years ago, almost half a million trees have taken root in Czech soil.“Every tree planted represents the ecological social responsibility of the ŠKODA brand and our employees. The environment, in which we live and work is very important to us, and we are happy to make it even greener and healthier with this project,” says ŠKODA Board Member for HR management Bohdan Wojnar, adding “Every tree contributes to the recovery of our landscape, while symbolizing the success of the ŠKODA brand.”The employees are actively involved; choosing the locations suitable for planting the saplings and helping with planting process. Last year, the company’s vocational school apprentices also joined in the project, cultivating the old fruit tree alleys along the roads in the Horní Slivno region. For the first time ever, the ŠKODA trainees and employees put their hand to the plough in Bezno village and Vrchlabí. Planting was also organized in Žďár and Krnsko in the Mladá Boleslav region, in Kvasiny and Rychnovsko, as well as many other locations.Last year, the car manufacturer worked alongside twenty-four villages and public utility organizations in the Central Bohemian, Královehradecký, Liberecký and Ústecký regions. The ‘One Tree Planted for Each Car Sold in the Czech Republic’ event is a crucial part of the ecological activities endorsed by the GreenFuture programme, and is one of several measures in the area of corporate social responsibility undertaken by ŠKODA at home. The main pillars include traffic safety, technical education, childcare and barrier-free mobility, together with programmes supporting the employees and regions where ŠKODA AUTO plants are located. The company works closely with the KOVO trade union on these activities.
